How it Works:

Creating Listings:

Homeowners create listings for homes in the Augusta area available for rent during each year's Masters tournament. They can describe their properties, enter contact information, and submit interior and exterior photos of their homes. Our software automatically generates maps to accompany the listings so that prospective renters can view the location of the homes and proximity to the event. Listings run for six months to one year and can be free or paid listings. Free listings when available may only post one photo, a brief description, and contact information will not be displayed online. The website is currently accepting only paid listings. Paid listings may post up to twelve photos, a full description, and may post personal contact information to be displayed with the advertisement. There is NO deadline for placing a listing. Listings may be placed any day or time, 365 days a year and will immediately and automatically be posted live to the website upon payment and submission of the listing information.

Payment:

Paid Premium listings currently cost $50 for six months and include the aforementioned features. Paid listings that obtain a renter without the use of our services or from renters browsing our ads who contact them directly to arrange the rental owe no additional payment or commission. If Augusta Masters Housing finds a renter for a homeowner, we do provide some negotiating services regarding price, length of stay, and some other arrangements. If the homeowner decides to secure a renter that we have found and arranged, a 7% commission will be paid to Augusta Masters Housing prior to the release of the renter's deposit or payment in full, and contact information to the homeowner. Featured listings are also available, currently for $75 for six months which include all of the features of premium listings, and in addition the listing will cycle through a special featured listings section which appears on the home page and every other page of the website, including other listings. For free listings, if the homeowner decides to secure a renter that we have found and arranged, a 7% commission will be paid to Augusta Masters Housing prior to the release of the renter's deposit or payment in full, and contact information to the homeowner. Payment to Augusta Masters Housing in the form of Cashier's Check, Money Order, and Paypal or Credit card via Paypal will be accepted.

Services:

We offer many services to help Augusta area homeowners secure renters for their homes. Our website is searchable online and appears on the first search page result for many popular searches relating to rental housing for the Masters Tournament. Additionally we perform local advertising in the Augusta area during the event in April in order to increase the chances of securing renters for upcoming years. We also provide some light negotiating services. We find it very helpful to our clients to act as an impartial intermediary in negotiating over price, amenities, and length of stay. We try to give helpful and realistic suggestions regarding setting weekly rental rates and rates for longer or shorter durations of stay.

Some common questions that we are asked are do we offer to help arrange for insurance, maid service, and rental contracts. Currently we do not employ legal experts, and we feel that the procurement of a rental agreement fundamentally requires the help of a legal expert. We can make suggestions and give friendly advice about some of the issues that should be addressed, but we do not supply any contractual documents. Regarding insurance, we advise that homeowners consult with their homeowner's or renter's insurance company to ensure that they have adequate coverage during a period of rental. At this point, we have never had any clients who have incurred any substantial damages, and we advocate the use of security deposits to cover any nominal, minor, and incidental damages which do sometimes occur such as minor damage to landscaping, scratches, carpet cleaning, etc. Also we do not currently have any affiliation with maid, cleaning, catering, or laundering services, but many Augusta companies exist that offer special short term arrangements during Masters week and many renters of large or luxurious homes sometimes do require these services. We may explore affiliations with companies that coordinate these types of services in the future.
